Samuel (Sam) Brandwein, QPA, CFP, CIMA, CRPS

President-Elect

Sam is a Vice President & 401(k) Consulting Director with Morgan Stanley, having been employed in the investment industry continuously since 1986. Sam focuses his efforts primarily on investment manager search/evaluation, portfolio construction, and consulting with plan sponsors regarding the overall operation of their retirement plans. Sam holds both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designations. Sam is also a credentialed member of ASPPA, having earned their Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designation. Sam has been an original member of the NAPA Leadership Council.

Brian H. Graff, Esq., APM

Executive Director

Brian is the Executive Director of NAPA and the CEO of the American Retirement Association. In this capacity he oversees NAPA’s operations. As a member of the Leadership Council, he charts the strategic direction for the organization. Brian also serves as ASPPA’s Executive Director — a post he has held since 1996.

He has been named one of 401kWire’s “50 Most Influential Persons in the 401(k) Industry” every year since 2007.

An attorney and certified public accountant, Brian was formerly Legislation Counsel to the U.S. Congress Joint Committee on Taxation. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, he was associated with The Groom Law Group, in Washington, D.C., which specializes in employee benefits. He received his doctoral degree in law, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor of science in accounting with distinction from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

Tony Franchimone, AIF

Vice President

Tony is a Principal at the Retirement Benefits Group. He has provided qualified and non-qualified retirement plan services to institutions and their employees since 1989, establishing a reputation for excellence and expertise in the area of investment fiduciary responsibilities, providing search and benchmarking, contract negotiations, investment due diligence and comprehensive employee education and communication programs.

 

Tony has been a featured speaker and panelist at many retirement plan conferences, including ASPPA and NAPA, and was selected as a founding lecturer at The Retirement Advisor University at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. Tony was a finalist for PLANSPONSOR magazine’s Retirement Plan Advisor of the Year from 2005 to 2011.

Joe is the Managing Partner at Washington Financial Group (WFG) and the Partner in charge of WFG’s retirement plan group which services over 150 qualified plans. For more than 23 years, he has maintained a commitment to building an organization centered on client needs that seeks to provide unsurpassed service and independent advice for entrepreneurs and organizations.

He is particularly well-recognized within the qualified plans community. He is a Founding Lecturer at The Retirement University for Advisors at UCLA and a member of the elite LPL Financial Retirement Plan Consulting Group. He was also named among the 40 Most Influential Advisors in Defined Contribution by 401kWire and the 401kExchange in 2011 as well as one of PLANADVISER’s 2012, 2013 & 2014 Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers.
